The 1AU burrs belong to the “Carbide High-Tech-Tools” family. These burrs are made of extremely fine-grained tungsten carbide, hydrostatically hot-pressed, which gives them exceptional properties when working with hard jewelry materials such as platinum, titanium, white gold and steel. These tools are distinguished by a gold-plated ring on the shank for easy identification.
The “round or spherical” cutters have a thin diameter and a serration that extends beyond the front, allowing an effective lateral attack on the materials. The cylindrical section behind the front curve is especially useful for setting princess-cut rails, for filigree work and for finishing stones and breaking edges with precision. These burrs are manufactured in Germany by Busch.
